She'll share ideas for educators and families who would like to participate in this year's celebration, which takes place on February 3. Malcolm Mitchell will describe his own reading journey. “I was a 19-, 20-year-old college student whom the world praised for my ability to catch a pass,” he says. “But in the bookstore, I was buying The Very Hungry Caterpillar, Exclamation Mark, and The Giving Tree to help teach myself how to become more literate.” Malcolm is now the best-selling author of The Magician's Hat and My Very Favorite Book in the Whole Wide World.
