Francisco, who immigrated to the United States from Mexico at the age of nine with his mother and adoptive father, is the author of several award-winning novels, including Marcelo in the Real World, Disappeared, and The Memory of Light. Francisco calls One Last Chance to Live “the most personal of all my books.”
